Curlew Close cottage is located on the exclusive Pullwood Bay Estate, a private 50 acre woodland on the north west shore of Lake Windermere between Ambleside and Hawkshead. The cottage enjoys woodland views within a private estate, and is just a short stroll from both the lake and The Drunken Duck pub.

The Cottage

The Pullwood Estate is a beautiful corner of the Lakes and Curlew Close is perfect for a family holiday or a romantic getaway. But we know you need some more information about what you can expect to find when you arrive so here are some details about the cottage and helpful information to make the most of your stay.

Inside

Curlew Close offers modern comforts whilst retaining the feel of a traditional property, ideal for a holiday at any time of the year. The main living room is open plan with fully equipped kitchen area, dining space and ample comfortable seating. The ground floor bedroom is a twin, with separate WC.
There are two further bedrooms upstairs – one double and one twin - along with the house bathroom (bath with shower over) and a separate WC.

The cottage is well-equipped to ensure an enjoyable stay, including:

  • Microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and electric oven & hob
  • Woodburner and TV/DVD
  • WiFi

Whether you’re enjoying breakfast on the patio being warmed by the summer sunshine or snuggled in front of a roaring fire in the colder months you are sure to enjoy the comforts of Curlew Close and the Pullwood Bay estate.

Outside

This charming character cottage is formed from the original coach house and stables for the magnificent Pullwood Bay Estate. The cottage features a south facing patio with direct access from the main living space. Private parking for two vehicles is provided opposite the cottage.

The fifty acres of woodland grounds are host to many animals including deer, rabbits, badgers and many varieties of birds. You are welcome to explore at your leisure, or take a stroll down the driveway from Curlew Close to the main estate house to enjoy the lakeshore gardens and lakeshore jetty & shingle beach.

For those wanting to explore further afield, Tarn Hows, Wray Castle, and the Langdale Pikes are just a short drive or ride away, whilst Ambleside offers everything you'll need for your local shopping. In the warmer months you can even take a lake cruise on the ferry from Wray Castle waterfront.

After a long day in the hills, or if you're simply not in the mood to cook, the famous Drunken Duck Inn is just a half mile away.
