Curlew Close Cottage

Self-catering accommodation on the shores of Lake Windermere

Curlew Close cottage is located on the exclusive Pullwood Bay Estate, a private 50 acre woodland on the north west shore of Lake Windermere between Ambleside and Hawkshead. The cottage enjoys woodland views within a private estate, and is just a short stroll from both the lake and The Drunken Duck pub.

Maybe you just want to relax. Take a gentle stroll through the estate grounds. Sit quietly on the jetty and watch the water. Enjoy some award winning local cuisine. Curl up in front of a roaring fire.

Maybe you want to thrash through the forest tracks on a mountain bike. Slip on your trail running shoes for a blast along the valley. Pull on your boots for a big day on the hills. Get pumped and scared witless on some traditional crags.

Maybe you want to trace the footsteps of Wordsworth. Ponder the life & work of Ruskin. Revisit your childhood with Beatrix Potter. Or do some detective work and see if Pullwood Bay really inspired Arthur Ransome’s Swallows & Amazons.
